Excel spreadsheets and worksheets allow teachers and students organize data, track progress and do calculations. Learn how to create a basic spreadsheet, use auto-fill, and organize cells with boarders, shading, and formatting. Class will also cover how to set the print area and use headers and footers for making it all look great in print. Participants will be given a follow up assignment due via email one week after the class date. Participants who complete the assignment on time will receive verification for 3 hours of staff development. Check with your district to see if professional growth hours are available for participation in CTAP live online classes.
Using Excel as a Gradebook

The class will take participants through the basic functions of the MS Excel application. Participants will learn how to use Excel's formulas to create several different spreadsheets that will automate mathematical computations. Prospective teachers who do not already understand Excel's basic formulas and how to use them are the focus of this class. Additional time may also be filled with examples of how Excel can be used in the classroom by instructors and students.
