EETT Formula - November Update
ARRA EETT-F Grants
When will the federal stimulus funds for EETT-Formula be awarded
We anticipate sending out the formula guidelines and award notifications around December 2009 or early January 2010. LEAs will have a period of availability to obligate ARRA EETT-F funds that will not expire until September 30, 2011.
Regular EETT-F Grants
We have completed the award notification (Form AO-400) process for the 2009-10 EETT-F grants. 1,010 LEAs were notified of their eligibility to participate in the 2009-10 EETT-F grant funds totaling $13.8 M. The list of grant awardees and grant amounts are posted on our web site under Funding Year 2009 at: www.cde.ca.gov/fg/fo/r5/eettf09rfa.asp. Each superintendent on the list was sent an award notification at the end of September 2009. CDE had requested that the AO-400s (acceptances and declines) be returned by the middle of October 2009. The LEA is not eligible until we receive a signed AO-400. We will provide a listing in the near future of those LEAs that have not returned their Form AO-400s.
When is the final date to have an approved EETT Tech Plan to be eligible for 2009-10 EETT-F?
An LEA must have an approved education technology plan that is effective for the 2009-10 fiscal year to be eligible for both regular and ARRA EETT-F grants. If your plan has expired or if your LEA is currently developing a plan, please note that the final due date to submit your technology plan is April 9, 2010 for it to be effective for the 2009-10 fiscal year. To find out the status of your LEA's technology plan go to: www.cde.ca.gov/ls/et/rs/ap/county.asp. EETT technology plans are sent to and reviewed by our professional partners, the California Technology Assistance Project (CTAP) prior to the CDE's final approval. The regional CTAP and contact person designated for your county can be located at: www.cde.ca.gov/ls/et/rs/ctapcoordinators.asp.
2008-2009 EETT- Formula Grant
We are in the reimbursement cycle for the 2008-09 EETT-F grants that were awarded to 915 LEAs totalling $15.3 million. An LEA must file an End of Period Expenditure (EOP) in order to get reimbursed. The LEA can file the EOP with the CDE once the grant award has been fully expended, but no later than September 30, 2010. Copies of the 2008-09 EOPs are available on our Web site: ftp://ftp.cde.ca.gov/edtech/eop-08-09/.
2007-2008 EETT- Formula Grant
There are 170 LEAs that have not filed their final expenditure reports for 2007-08. Funding eligibility for 2008-09 or the 2009-10 EETT-F grants are contingent on these LEAs filing a 2007-08 EOP, which are to due to the CDE by November 11, 2009. After the due date, federal funds will no longer be available and EOPs received after the due date will forfeit the final 15% of the 2007-08 grant award amount. Copies of the 2007-08 EOPs are available on the CDE Web site: ftp://ftp.cde.ca.gov/edtech/eop-07-08/.
